For years I have been able to select gray scale and duplex printing on my MG6220, but recently when I click on print, the black & white option does not appear and two-sided printing is grayed out. What has changed?
Pixma MG6220
Printer Malfunction PIXMA MG7120
My PIXMA MG7120 printer has recently stopped processing print requests. When I view the print queue there is a stalled print file in the queue, and I get a message that says "Your printer is being used by another computer".
A Google search on that error returns several instances from 2 or 3 years ago but none are clear on how to resolve. At the time (~2016) it was claimed that Canon did not know how to fix, even though it was common enough to generate a number of internet searches for a solution.
We did install and run a Canon Windows app, but with no apparent success.
It is now late in 2018. Has anyone learned how to fix this problem?
Thank you in advance
Re: Black printing MG6650
I hae a problem: after a relatively intense period printing a picture-heavy text, black text is appearing blue. Nozzle check shows that the BK cartridge is not printing at all even after I've inserted a new one and despite cleaning and deep cleaning nothing has changed.
Any suggestions, as the blue cartridge will run out very quickly at this rate?
Thanks in advance.
Horizontal Banding on MP990
Hello. Hoping to get some help from this forum on some suggestions/known causes of the horizontal banding that I am seeing with color printing.
Here are some of the things that I have tried/tested in my attemp to resolve this issue.
- My nozzle check patterns look correct (no banding, all boxes in grid are aligned)
- Have performed a 'Cleaning' and a 'Deep Cleaning' (numerous times) with no difference in print job quality
- Performed a 'Manual' print head cleaning (via removing print head) with no difference in print job quality
- Have attempted to do a 'Auto Head Alignment' and it acts like it is going to do something, but quickly ejects 1st page out of printer and provides the error "Auto head align has failed. Press OK and repeat operation <See Manual>". It does this repeatably, never completes an Auto Head Alignment. I can do a manual alignment, but completing it does not help my problem. (see Canon results 'ManualPrintHead-1of2.jpg' and 'ManualPrintHead-2of2.jpg')
- Performed the 'Nozzle Check' function but do not see any issues in printed results (see attachment NozzleCheckResults.jpg)
- Have performed a 'Roller Cleaning' and a 'Bottom Plate Cleaning' with no change in print quality.
- Have attempted printing different types of picture file formats (.png, .jpg, .bmp, .gif) with no difference in picture quality
- I have attached the different prints (print attempts that were scanned via MP990 in a .jpg format) and have attached. The pictures are;
PlainPaper-Standard.jpg
PlainPaper-High.jpg
GlossyPaper-High.jpg
PlainPaperStandard-Greyscale.jpg
Have also attached the original file that was used in the print tests (MorningSky-Original.jpg)
Hoping someone recognizes the problem and is able to provides some recommendations.
Thanks in advance for help received.

MG7720 Printer stopped working and support code after changing ink cartridges
Alright so this is mostly my fault, wanted to get that out of the way.
I installed new ink cartridges in my printer today for the first time since getting it. My issue starts with the new ink, I selfishly bought "compatible" ink cartridges instead of ink straight from Canon themselves. After I restarted my printer I heard a scratching sound, got a support code of C000, and now can't do anything. I looked up the support code already and tried to check the ink but when I open the cover, the ink doesn't move to the position that allows me to remove the ink. Now I'm stuck with a printer that I can't use
Is there anything I should do, or am I out of luck with this and have to buy a new one?
Thanks for any advice/support, anything is appreciated. And lesson learned, don't but 3rd party ink.

Adobe Acrobat -- Turning Off Two-Sided Printing on Apple/iMac
I have a Canon TR8520, which runs off Apple/iMac computers, and I cannot get it to stop printing two-sided documents when printing from Adobe Acrobat. I have no trouble with other applications, e.g., Word, but my .pdf files always print two-sided.
I do not have two-sided checked in the Printer preferences.
Any thoughts appreciated!

Canon TS9020 jams every time duplex printing
My TS9020 printer was working perfectly for a few months (including duplex printing), but one time when printing on both sides using the automatic duplexing (which again, was working flawlessly for months), the paper jammed while printing the second side. After clearing the jam following the instructions, the printer continues to jam only when attempting to print the other side using the automatic duplexer. The printer seems to print completely normally when using regular single sided printing.
The printer jams every single time attempting to use the automatic duplexer.
mx490 driver will not install
My amd lenovo laptop with windows 10 will not complete the printer installation.
I follow the instructions for usb installation, it downloads the latest version, approve the EULA, and connect the printer when prompted..
It hangs up on the screen that says "printer detected please wait" and then 5 minutes later it says "printer not detected & please connect"
Please advise.
Issues with wireless MG3022
Alright, so I have connected wirelessly with my MG3000 printer while with Xfinity internet, but recently made a change to Centurylink. Since the change, I have not been successful in connecting my wireless iPhones, iPads, or MacBook Pro to my printer. On my mac, I would follow the promptings to discover the wireless Canon printer available on my wireless network, successfully connect to, but when I go to print, it shows that the printer is offline, when in fact it is on. I have unplugged the router, printer and shut off my computer waited 30 minutes, and restarted the router, printer, and MacBook in that order, and as I continued the setup process, I end up with the same results. Please Help!
printing avery labels
I have a canon MX 922 and can't print avery address labels corectly. I am using windows 10 with a dell PC but when I go to my HP laptop with windows 7 using the same printer it works correctly. I have tried everything I can think of. I have tried changing the properties and installing new drivers. Does anyone out there have any help.

Start/driver download not working
Worked fine installing on husband's desktop. Not loading on my laptop. During step 1, looking for drivers it stalls on 12/14. Waited 15 minutes. It never moved on. Tried both CD and internet download. Always the same result.
Canon MF634Cdw / MF733Cdw native scanner resolution
I was just about to pull the trigger and order a mf733cdw but I read the scanner is limited to native scanning at 300dpi and anything above this is achieved through image processing. Has this been addressed through a firmware upgrade or is this correct, in which case I'm likely to go for a single purpose color laser instead and look elsewhere for image scanning.
This is the comment I found online, "I had both the MF634Cdw and MF733Cdw and returned both. The scanning specs on both printers are wrong. I spent many hours with Canon reps, and finally their engineer confirmed that both the MF634Cdw and MF733Cdw scan at native 300 dpi optical only via the ADF. Anything higher than 300 dpi has to be done through interpolation with the software via a PC, which is why you can't scan more than 300 dpi optical from the printers' control panel.
Canon uses the same scanning hardware as HP, and there is a defect on the scanning hardware, where the scanning element is slightly off the vertical axis that causes the scanned document to be crooked. You have to look hard and scan vertical parallel lines to notice this defect. The only fix is to use the software to correct it."
thanks for any clarification.
Airprint default options on ts 8220
When using airprint to print to the 8220 from ios (ipad or iphone), the aiprint driver defaults to "photo print" paper. Is there anyway to change this default behavior?
Defaulting to photo printing is very annoying. Almost all documents I would print from an IOS device are on plain paper. Furthermore, photo paper can only be printed using the rear tray, which by default I keep empty. Having to always remember to change this option is not intuitive to family members.
Black printing purple
I have a caonon mg5750 printer which has worked ok for 18 months. Now when I try to print a photo on glossy paper the blacks come out purple - this effect starts after about a third of the page has been printed. I have tried the cleaning operations and reinstalled the drivers - whats the solution?
Pixma TS5055, black and dark colors appear with spots
Hey,
I have a Pixma TS5055.
It prints fine on matte paper, but when I try to print on glossy paper, the black and generally dark parts have dots all over them. In those places the picture is also still wet when it comes out of the printer. I heard that one of the two black inks is not compatible with glossy paper, (not sure if that's true, read it on a forum) but I do have all my settings on glossy. There are several glossy options, I've tried all of them.
If any of you have any idea what I could do, I would appreciate it. I'm pretty desperate at this point, I can print only light things on glossy paper, otherwise there are dots all over it.
Thank you in advance.
MX922 Black Ink Streaking - Gaps
The following is happening when I prink from black cartridges under "fast" print. Under High quality print, the problem is NOT present. I have owned four MX 922's over the last 3 years and this problem is from my latest printer fresh out of the box. I have completed all of the maintenence cycles (Clealing, alignment, nozzle check, etc)
Can anyone identify the problem from the photo below?
Very Washed out pictures
I have been trying to print up photos of our Grandson for his Baby book and the wall, and they are coming out horrible. They are so faded and washed out, I can't even use them and I've done the deep cleaning, the check nozzles, the regular cleaning, and it hasn't changed.
It also looks the same on regular paper as it does on photo paper, that doesnt' change anything. I've searched and searched to find a way to stop this without finding anything to help with this.
I'm attaching the photos, the one on the right is on reg paper, the one on the left is on glossy photo paper (yes, all the settings are as they should be, I've checked them several times).
Can anyone help? I have a Canon MX 492 printer.
Thank you
